Golf Association of Michigan The Golf Association of Michigan, founded in 1919, is the governing body for amateur golf in the state. As a not-for-profit organization, our purpose is to represent, promote, and serve the best interests of the game. The GAM provides membership to more than 70,000 golfers and more than 400 golf courses; conducts 13 amateur championships; and oversees 14 USGA qualifying events.
